I am currently attempting learn basic French conversation.  Paris and Amsterdam are two places I would like to visit before settling down and a second language will be very useful.   Paris seems to be such a romantic city;  I have heard that a visitor will have a better experience if they have an understanding of the culture and language.   Amsterdam is so beautiful, everyone I have spoken has said that I would love it there.  Both cities have a great expanse of history and culture and it would be a wonderful experience to explore each.
